Become A Sponsor

In the Classroom

Media Watch was initially designed for classroom use where the teacher is naturally the sponsor. It is suitable for adoption by teachers of English, Government, Political Science, Social Studies and Sociology Departments on high school and college campuses. The project might also interest Speech, Journalism, and Communication teachers.

Our programs have frequently been used in the classroom as a senior project or as a project for an honors class. There is an additional incentive in that Media Watch would likely fulfill the community service requirement for graduation now instituted in many schools across the country.

As a Group Leader

Currently, heavy curriculum demands would mean many teachers would have to volunteer after school hours to this project or to recruit an exceptional student for a leadership role. As an alternative, youth leaders outside the school system would also make outstanding sponsors.

Make It Happen

All sponsors must notify the Foundation of their intent to participate. The notification should describe the plan, present a timeline for the project and include names and what other information about the proposed participants he/she believes would interest the Foundation.

A sponsor may serve as the group leader or appoint someone else to assume a leadership role, subject to management by the sponsor.
