Sheri first met Mel Kaplan, the co-founder of the Harry Singer Foundation, in 2006 at a Social Venture Network conference in Tucson, Arizona. Their synergistic worldview and internal drive for what’s possible, led to an opportunity to work together and launch a $75M capital campaign for Aspire Public Schools. Aspire’s pioneering crusade to transform public education in California, and beyond, is powered by its commitment to “college for certain” for schoolchildren in disadvantaged communities. Both Sheri and Mel have joined Aspire’s crusade.
