War is so common now that it has become a part our everyday life.

Most people living in the world today have either participated in a war or know someone that was in a war.  Many of these people also knew a person that was lost in a war.  It is a sad reality that, unless something out of this world happens, none of us will ever live in a time of total peace.  I think that we have all come to that reality.

"Peace is rare: Less than 8% of the time since the beginning of recorded time has the world been entirely at peace.  In a total of 3,530 years, 286 have been warless.  Eight thousand treaties have been broken in this time."  This quote is from an unknown source.  I think that this is a very harsh and truthful reality.

To think that we have still not found a way to be peaceful and all live together is sickening.  With all of the technology in the world today, it is amazing to me that we have not found a way to settle disputes without violence.  It is astounding that human beings can be smart enough to build a computer that fits in your pocket, and at the same time we are so stupid that we cannot be at peace with each other.  I am not saying that we should drop our weapons and surrender.  There are too many psychos out there to do this.

The crazy terrorists would find a way to take over America if we were to do this.  Someone must step up and offer another solution.

Billy Graham is an evangelist who was born on November 7, 1918.  He has preached the Gospel to over 210 million people (that is more than anyone else in history).  Mr. Graham founded the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in 1950.

Billy Graham once said "We must have military power to keep madmen from taking over the world".  This quote represents what I am sure a lot of people in the U.S. are feeling these days.  There are thousands of crazed Afghan men that think that Americans should not live freely.  We must use military action to take care of these pieces of garbage.  I wish that this matter could be solved in a much more peaceful manner.  For now though, we must fight back.

I would like to know whom these terrorists think they are telling us how we should live.  They think that they are better than we are because they have stricter rules and our government lets us be free.  We don’t like the way that the Tailbone is governing Afghanistan.  We aren’t flying planes into buildings in their country.  We aren’t purposely killing thousands of innocent Afghan civilians just because we don’t like the way that they live.  It is sad that these people have not yet learned that the best way to live would be in peace.  The madmen will then see that they cannot take over the world, because our military power is too strong.

Alfred Bernhard Nobel was born in Stockholm in 1833.  He was a chemist, inventor, and philanthropist.  Alfred received his education in St. Petersburg, Russia, and in the U.S.  Mr. Nobel and his father developed mines torpedoes, and other explosives.  He left his $9 million estate to fund a yearly prize in physics, chemistry, medicine and physiology, literature, and world peace.  Alfred Nobel died in 1896.

Alfred Nobel at one time said "My dynamite will sooner lead to peace than a thousand world conventions.  As soon as men will find that in one instant whole armies can be utterly destroyed, they surely will abide by golden peace."  This quote is very true.  The biggest army in the world could be demolished by the smallest if the conditions were right.  No army can provide complete and total protection for a country and countries citizens.  We have already seen this in the attacks on America by terrorists.  It is not very hard to see.  It is happening all over the world.  Innocent people are being killed because others don’t realize the destruction that they are causing.

It seems almost impossible for this to happen.  It only takes a few lunatics to cause a dispute between two countries.  In the war that is going on at the moment between the U.S. and Afghanistan, the dispute is focused on one man named Osama bin Laden.  This man does not understand the concept of peace, freedom, or of a democratic government.  Because of this man’s ignorance and stupidity, there have been thousands of innocent people killed.  Not every man will ever truly understand what Alfred Nobel was talking about, and for this and many other reasons, the world will never again abide by golden peace.

I obtained all of my information about the author of each quote and other various information off of the Internet.  The sights I obtained info off of are:  http://www.billygraham.org, abcnews.com, and
