Getting Involved

World community is one of the communities that gets everyone involved. No one really knows much about world unless he watches the news or reads the newspaper daily.  In other words, world community is not as popular to us as some of the closer communities, so in my opinion the world comes together on the internet and the newspapers. Even with all the wars going on,  somehow, we are still connected. Although news is important, it is not the only way the whole world is connected.  Things like technology, all the immigrants that come to America to find a better life, and lastly the global business. I know for a fact that we get some technology and computer ideas from foreign countries. That is how the world communicates. Immigrates looking for a better life in other countries, also unite the world. As the immigrants come in America, they also bring their customs and tradition. Whenever a person goes shopping for clothes or other stuff, he often notices that much of the goods are from China. That is why it is important for us to stay friends with other countries. For instance, if it were not for China we would not have many luxury items that we use in our every day life.

Of my favorite communities, I feel most connected to local communities. Even though all communities are equal of importance, I think that this community is the most united. I think that because all the hardships that this country has been through like the September 11^th, it is still united. This country is faced with tragedies and more tragedies every day, and it still stays together. September 11^th is the perfect example because on the day the whole nation helped out the people involved in this tragedy.

Another community is local community. I think I am much closer to my local community than world and national community. I think as my local community as all of my friends that go to my school or live with in my neighborhood. I know these people quite well because I see them everyday, and I hang out with them after school hours. Besides all of my friends, my local community stays in touch by having neighborhood meeting and making up all these laws. My neighborhood has at least one meeting every month and I am glad they do because at every meeting there is a person that tells everyone else how to take care of the garden or something like that.

I can honestly say that my nuclear family is very close together. We all have busy schedules, but we still find the times to talk at the dinner table every night. Even though sometimes I do not see my dad until seven every night, we still find times to talk every night, and that is how we stay connected. Also, sometimes I really have a hard time doing my homework with my three-year old sister, but I do not know what I would do without her.

Just like it is important to stay connected with world and national communities, likewise it is important for a person to know about his ancestors. For example, my family comes from all over the world, so I think I am several nationalities. My mom is from Russia and her family comes from both Ukraine and Russia. My dad’s side of the family comes from Germany and Italy. I think it is interesting to know where a person is from because some of that person’s behavior might relate to that country. Just like I mentioned earlier, immigrants help unite people, and I guess that is what I am doing.

My friends, another community, are absolutely amazing. My friends help unite all of my communities. I think that because all of my friends have other friends who have other friends who happen to know me, so that is how we are all united. I also enjoy running and that is where I made all of my friends. My Cross Country team has helped me out when I was in need of help and that is what all of these communities are all about.

In summary, a community a gathering of people who care about each other and will do anything to help of out when in need. Communities unite people all over the world and that is what keeps us connected, and I would like to say that community is what gets people through the day. Just knowing that there is someone out there that cares about a certain person is enough to make anyone’s day.
