Rewards

Unfunded Rewards (titled: Still A Dream) are items taken from the organization and individual wish lists. The numbers on the descriptions allow potential funders to read about the organization or individual that made the request and works as a strong funding motivator. Items on the list link to individual exchange proposals and organization pages. The hope is to have each item transferred to the Funded section over time.

Partially Funded Rewards Listed here are the large rewards which are offered for an exchange of many hours. The challenge is usually taken up by a variety of volunteers over time. This section let's the community note progress. When the expiration date nears, a notice will blink on the main page of the Dream Machine alerting people that so many hours have already been expended and not to let the offer expire without full acceptance. (Similar to various auction sites on the web.) It is a cyber rallying cry to the community.

Funded Rewards These are unilateral contacts with an expiration date. They will eventually be posted directly by potential donors (called funders). For now, they will be items from private individuals, public officials, corporations and 501 (c) 3 and other grant makers, acting on their own initiative or solicited by student presentations as part of the school's community-based learning. A reward-seeker can view a description of any item offered and the opportunity hours required to earn the reward by typing in a key word like "movie passes", "mentor", "copy machine". By typing "all" (which may be the only option offered until this section is well stocked) the user can browse all the funded rewards currently available. Funded Rewards are the result of people running their donations through the Dream Machine. The following is an example of a Funded Reward: "Used 650 Honda motorcycle. Comes with ten hours of maintenance instruction. Exchange = 50 volunteer hours, organization of your choice."
