Painting undercoats, pulling weeds and helping prepare food for volunteers involves children as young as five. Join your neighbors and make a difference.

Join with your peers and have fun while making a difference. New projects every week. Ideas and special skills welcome; especially from those with the ability to plan and manage. Did you see Patch Adams? This Saturday we are bringing balloons and cheer to the children's ward at Community Hospital; Sunday to Children's Hospice. Be a clown, be wacky, dress appropriately (costume required, including face paint!) You needn't be an extrovert--silent clowns are great and so are magicians! Reward = the smiles on children's faces and food and good company at the end of both days.

We have a couple staff members and a few students who would be interested in programming at the intermediate level. Expertise with any of the above would be most welcome.

VO125 Tutor students in math

Organization: Sequoia High School, Mapleton
We have a great need for math tutors for arithmetic (percentages, fractions), algebra, geometry, calculus. This is math without a calculator. We prefer to have tutors here at school during school hours, but other times may be arranged with individual students to fit your schedule. Of course it may be harder to arrange outside the school since tutoring must be done in pairs in accordance with AW guidelines which means at least four schedules to coordinate.

We ask for a six month commitment because there is special training/orientation at the AW and the tutor and student need time to adjust to one another to make effective progress. There is nothing more valuable for the growth of our young people than tutors and mentors. You are greatly appreciated by all of us, and we intend to show you! Welcome to our school family.

Experience with the following software programs is a must: Microsoft Word, Power Point, Netscape and Microsoft's web browsers and experience on the internet. Knowledge of Front Page 98 would be a plus.
