Programs
This organization conducts a therapeutic nursery program in collaboration with Early
Childhood Special Education Departments of school districts; homeless shelters; domestic
violence shelters and day care centers in Mapleton. It also offers, for a fee, forensic
service expert evaluation and testimony for children in circumstances of trauma.
Mission
Mending children's hearts and minds in the aftermath of severe and catastrophic trauma
through research, service and training. The Center is dedicated to refining clinical
models of intervention for children in the earliest detectable stages of traumatic
reactions or emotional disturbance.
Wish Lists
The Center would like to expand its programs into other areas and hopes to open an office
in Salinas, California during the next five years.
WL721The Center is looking for a used van or pick up truck
We often need to transport furniture and bulky items to our various shelters. A donation
of a vehicle in running condition would be greatly appreciated.
WL72 The Center is looking for a color copy machine.
We would like a color copier. As long as it is in working condition, we are not fussy.
Used is ok
WL73 The Center needs an upgraded telephone system.
We currently have an outdated eight-line Merlin system. It's not so much that we would
like to upgrade; it's just that the equipment is falling apart. If your office is
upgrading please consider donating your old system to us. Anything with 6-8 lines that is
in working order would be fine.
WL74 The Center is looking for a place to store donations
A storage area at least the size of a one car garage is needed to store donations. Should
be within a six mile radius of first and highway 101 in San Jose.
WL75 The Center needs a laptop or powerbook with at least 16 mg of ram.
We would like two computers. Laptops preferred. Minimum requirements: 166 MHz 16MB RAM.
