How you can help
Anyone can participate by organizing
a group willing to research proposed national or local legislation with the
intent of sharing the resultant information and conclusions via local media.
A citizens group can also form for the purpose of discussing community problems and taking their conclusions to meetings of elected officials, writing editorials to local newspapers and sharing the results of these discussions on local radio and television.
We slant our program to teens, because for twenty years we have been finding way to let teens know they are capable, valued and respected members of their communities.
The immediate goal is to get Problem Solvers of any age group showing what can be done. Programs from various parts of the country would be syndicated to a number of radio stations and played to get listeners acquainted with the idea. Some communities may prefer to have a combination of senior and teen members in their Problem Solvers groups. We want to hear from whatever group is willing to accept the challenge and show the rest of us that "it can be done." (The more varieties of Problem Solvers, the better!)
If you decide to participate in this activity notify the Foundation at the outset. If you can arrange to have your discussion aired on a local radio or television station, please send us a CD or DVD of the program. If you can't get a local station to cooperate, please contact us.
