"Everybody knows that fifteen years ago there were bad things happening in the same or even greater quantities then they are today. Back then they weren't made out to be such big stories. The average American citizen really didn't want to know all the gory and never-ending details. The media needs to start reporting stories that are positive. I found that I could find fifteen negative events to only one positive example."

Louis Greenwood, the co-founder of the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists (AAIM), prowls the suburbs of Chicago with a dashboard video camera, cellular phone, a CB, and police radio, looking for signs of drunk drivers. In this programs, anyone who gives tips to the police that result in a drunken driving arrest can be immediately rewarded with $100. AAIM has given out over $30,000."

"Colorado sports teams have started a program called Operation Cease Fire. This program is to get guns off the streets and out of the hands of children. The Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rockies, and Denver Broncos have all participated in Operation Cease Fire. The program exchanges two tickets to a game for each gun turned in."
