Personal
responsibility has more of an influence in the improving of life in our own communities
today. Not only does getting involved with
the community help but donating what you can to make where you and your family live a
better place, will not only make you yourself happy but it will also make many other
people happy in the long run. Not until the 1960s did people care whether thier
community was improving or decling at any or every aspect.
When the hippies started to protest the Vietnam War people started to understand
that caring for your neighbors,(not only the people that live next to you but friends in
neighboring cities, states, and countries) was not a bad thing but a good thing that would
make this world a better place in the future.
By the end
of the Vietnam War people began to donate more to people who didnt have anything and
by just speaking their mind at many public town meetings and restaurants, several needed
changes started to be made. I think that if
you want something changed then it will get changed, depending on how hard you strive for
it. Everyone wants the world to be clean, and
an easy way for this goal to be achieved is by not throwing you trash in the streets and
instead recycling. These two factors are an
easy way to help your society in the long run. Not
only a few people can help in this process to make your own community a better place, it
has to be a full out effort by everyone
living in that community. If there was a
certain day for recycling and a rule of one or two hours of community service a week then
the things that need done, but no one wants to do, would get done anyway. If everyone would take a timeout away from their
own hectic schedules to help make where they live a better place, it would work.
Not only is
the environment a factor in making your community a better place, but by attending
community events, such as town meetings, or even school board meetings much needed repairs
would be voiced by the community and be on a better path to getting fixed then if no one
said anything at all. Supplies the community
needs are also easier to get if the needs for them are voiced be people in the community
themselves. In other words being more
outspoken to your congressmen and other higher positions in the community will help to
make it a better place.
Job security
is another main issue that will help steady the progress of a society. Not only does having a steady job help your
own life, it makes you more easy-going, letting you be able to do other events in life
instead of worrying all day everyday. Job
security also shows your congressmen that the community is serious about changes, and that
their jobs or lives in a community are not a joke. It
shows responsibility, confidence, and the desire of wanting to be successful. Not just in the aspect of money, but of a family
who gets the best that you can give to them. Not
only does this show others how to make their lives successful, but it shows that anyone
can do it.
Last but not
least, if everyone wants a healthy and beneficial society then they have to realize that
all the money in the world cant buy happiness.
The saying is old, but nothing could be more true.
The richest person could buy five Corvettes, the biggest big screen T.V. they could
find, and invite the whole community over to their house for a party and think that they
are helping the community, but in actuality they arent helping it at all. In actuality they are only making it worse. Others will not see this as a good thing, but
either the rich people bragging again, or jealousy will be caused. These kind of people have to realize that more is
not necessarily better, or that more makes you feel better either. Most of the time it is a cover up of unhappiness
and insecurity. If the people with more
money would donate some of it to helping make the community better, they would feel better
about themselves in the long run.
If a community wants to be successful then the only way they can achieve the goals and obstacles set before them is by being a team, and sticking together through everything. Even the smallest decision made could be the most turning in ones life. Just remember that the decisions you make might be right for you and your family, but might make life for others dreadful. Discussion, and majority rules are the most likely way to make everyone happy, and life better for you and the people in your community.

1. In the United States society invests in marriage
by supporting those who marry and have kids but dont criticize those who dont
marry. In Manus marriage is respected and is
paid for with things that are exchanged at the ceremony.
2.
3. Our collective goal should be to get more out of
the society by not sacrificing what is important to us, but by sacrificing what we
dont need.
4. To reach out more to the needy and supply them
with what they need and what we do not need. This
would be reached by letting the people who want to contribute do so, and those who do not
want any part in it would not have to do anything.
5. I agree that there are so many latchkey
children and not enough concerned people to take them in.
The people who would want to do so would be the people who for some reason would
not be allowed. On the other hand the person
who has the most money of all could take all these children in and still have money to
spare, but wont due to what others might think or that they are just to stuck up
period.
6. Democracy makes lawyers helpful by creating
a form of public responsibility and accountability that would not happen in an untrammeled
democracy. Diversity makes lawyers helpful by
the USA being heterogeneous bringing about more conflict and causing the laws to step in
and promote the laws. Wealth helps because
people are worrying more about luxuries, and Clean Air, which brings about lawsuits. The last thing that makes lawyers helpful in the
USA is size, due to the vast, expansive territory of the USA we have many different
organizations working separately trying to do the same thing, and causing conflict in the
same time.
7. I believe that bad practices are changed by
regulations, because new sets of regulations will put different pressures on different
things.
8. The birth rate will go up, there will be more
facilities for the elderly of the generation Xers, and there will be more opportunities
for teenagers to have jobs.
