The Personal Responsibility Of Today
By Benjamin
Cooley
Grade: 10
Everybody in
the world has a role in his own society, and each person has to make a choice for himself.
They can either fulfill that role whatever it may be. Or they can take the other road, and
not make any contribution at all to society. Nobody but you knows what your role is, so
the choice is yours. Some people take this chance, make the right choice and become very
successful people. Others make the wrong choice, and end up living such a bad life,
perhaps in prison. Although none of us know when, sooner or later the time will come to
make a choice.
I myself
personally believe that I have a responsibility to fulfill in my county. First there are
laws given that I must abide by. And when I am with others who begin to break these laws,
I am to show them and convince them of the importance of keeping these laws. Then if they do not listen then I should leave and
not take part in what they are doing. I also
have a responsibility to treat private property with respect. In that I do not vandalize or destruct things
belonging to them and not me. I also should not let people I know get away with such
things. I should do my best to contribute to making changes happen if needed. Overall it
is my role to be a good citizen. I can do this by abiding by laws, making contributions
that would be helpful to my county, and then teaching others to do the same-not only by
word, but by example.
I also have a
personal responsibility to deep of fulfill in the city in which I live. First, I have a
responsibility to go to school. Not only to go, but also to do the best I can in my grades
and also in my behavior, so that I can help create a safe learning environment for
everyone going to school in each grade. I should be an example, and encourage the younger
children to try and do the same. Also I believe I have to keep up my standards, of where I
go to church. Nor should I do things that would harm others I know. I should try to live in a way that is right to the
Bible.
I also have a
personal responsibility to keep or fulfill in neighborhood. First, I need to abide the
laws, in that I do not vandalize anybodys house of property. And I help to make a
safe community to live in. Also if there is wrong in the community, I have a
responsibility to help fix it. Then I am to make sure it does not happen again. Next, I
have a responsibility to keep to the people living within my community. First, I should
treat them all with respect along with their personal belongings. Do my best to make
others treat everybody with respect. Finally I have a responsibility to fulfill at a
friends and family level. I should do my best to help my family and abide by their
standards. I am also to help protect them. To friends living in the community I have a
responsibility to not talk about them and not do anything to harm them. Then there is a
personal responsibility at a whole different level. I am supposed to help my family do the
best to keep up our yard in good-looking condition. My house, I am to try and fix it up
and keep it kept up to improve the look conditions so that if someone was to sell their
house we could be good neighbors and help them all we can.
As we know we
all have to make a choice once we find what our role is in society. The choice to fulfill,
or else leave it and go our own way. We should count it as a privilege to be part of a
society in which it takes many people to keep it working. So each person has a
responsibility to fill, and if one person does not fill his or her role, then it is as if
one piece of the puzzle is gone. So it is almost necessary for each person to fill his or
her role. Although some people take this
responsibility and just shrug it off, we that have not must pick up the slack and carry
the extra load.
