So, were all striving for the same common goal. To focus on the goal we must ask, What are we looking for; peaceful streets, happy homes, and drug-free cities and towns? We must make a generalization that our youth of today have evolved with many distinct changes. In this inference, did we allow or communities to fuse to a blotch on the street? Have we allowed our community to puree to a mush? Most of our teens of today are like roses with no water. We allow them to fall away from the stem of our community. So how do we add water to their lives? It all runs together into two words of wisdom, personal responsibility. What must we do to let the responsibility rain down on their precious petals? It is most important to find the unemployed and those under-employed, updated and advanced jobs to higher levels of work and unplug the electric blanket that our government provides to certain people, also known as welfare.
Imagine yourself on the corner of Halsted and Wabash, your wife at your side and your two children at your other. Your kitchen, living room, and bathroom all in one area. You are unemployed and living on the street, just waiting for someone to come along and say, I have a wonderful job for you. Well, unfortunately, that day will not come. It all starts with one action. For those people in society, what can we do to steer them towards the workplace? How about the workers that have low-skilled jobs and know they can do better? We should start a shadowing program for the groups of individuals who would like to excel and allow them the opportunity to make a name or a bigger one at that. Even better, start a training program to allow the unemployed to catch up. This will allow so many opportunities for everyone. That extra job could be just what we needed to excel us into the 21st century, at the speed of light. Return back to that corner once again after taking a shadow/training program. Your wife and children still at your side, but now you live in an apartment because you took the step, you decided, This is the day I will grow.
Electric blankets, warm, comforting, and you have an adjustment gauge if it heats up too high. This sound likes the United States social services program minus the adjustment gauge. Social services comforts those, who by right, should receive welfare, and others, who abuse the system. So what should we do and whose responsibility is it? The responsibility is placed on the shoulders of every United States citizen. Regulations under the welfare system should be tightened and restricted. For example, we have teenagers staying on welfare with 8 children for the main reason instead of working, should be unplugged from welfare. The common answer if a person were asked to leave welfare, would most likely be, Why? They receive all the comforts of home without working. Your paycheck and mine have tax taken out that is given directly to heat that blanket. For the better of the situation, we must secure welfare, and make it available to those who need it and deny it to those who want it. So if you care about your future and the future of the social services system, we must all join together and pull the blanket tighter. Fore, in the end, this is a call of responsibility.
Parents, role models, and authority figures, are all the roles an average parent assumes. However, some people in our community tend to have single parent homes. Our village should accept the reality and back the parent in any situations. If the parent loses their job, the community should assist them in groceries and other needs. These are the responsibilities that we assume when we become a neighborhood and a community. We all need to lend a helping hand in the end.
Morals, character, ethics, all lean out to the hands of our community. Together we can create a wonderful quilt, a quilt of our future. However, when one person starts to remove their hands, the quilt thus changes, creating a new generation. Each person adds a little of their creativity, and makes it all that more wonderful. For the sake of future, and generations to come, join your hands together to make a masterpiece.
How does society invest in
marriage in the USA and in Manus?
In the past, moral ethics of
marriage were different than that of todays couples.
Marriage used to be a sacred ritual before children were created. Today the birth of children is the basis of
marriage. The role playing order has created
a 180-degree reversal. Our society sees
marriage as a trial and error process. If you dont find your prince charming or
Juliet waiting at the balcony, just divorce and try again. However, many people choose to
cohabitate and see it as a 30-day free trial. The risk factor is less than the
marriage/divorce principal, though. Marriage
in the United States and Manus is like comparing grapes and bananas, they just are not
meant to make good juice. In Manus, most
people actually invest in a marriage. If they
feel that a marriage is not worth the investment or is not meant to be, they wont
invest their animal teeth or cash. With this
investment, they feel that they are a part of the wealth of life.
Interview 10 married people. (NO NAMES) State the length and number of each ones marriages and a line or two of advice from each on how to maintain a long, happy relationship.
So, the basis for and the
continuation of a successful marriage is astoundingly a romanceful and intimate
relationship shared by both spouse. The focal point of a marriage is not always on the
basis of years of a marriage, my tests; for example, stated the average marriage length of
12.4 years. This could not determine the complete success or failure of a marriage. We
must determine the values necessary and to be achieved by a couple of the 90s.
What; in the opinion of 10
polled married couples, is the reality of keeping a marriage strong? Couple 1, married for
22 years, stated their key to success was to have a honesty line, keep communications
open, have a better understanding of each side, and share. Couple 2, married for 7 years,
explained their long, happy, relationship was a key result of keeping the love flowing and
have intimate moments. The female in the relationship stated communications are very
important in maintaining a long happy relationship and letting your partner know how you
feel.
3. According
to Richard Eckersley, what should our collective goal be?
Does more or bigger mean
better? Truly in the American aspect, more means progress. So, what is the aspect behind
the idea? Maybe, too many people are looking
at the principle through a prism. They tend to filter out the negatives, and only view the
positives. However, the prism tends to angle differently, from prism to prism. We must remember, though, we one brick in a wall
of millions, who sat before a wrecking ball. The wrecking ball of our physical environment
and other species above and below us. So
people must take a stand and turn off the key.
We must join together to form one joint community.
Our communities of today are too segregated. However,
what holds the people apart? A road, some rocks, black top, no a mental intuition that
keeps them separated. Once again, take that step across the road, smash the rocks, and
give your community a brighter future.
Write a worthy goal for your
community.
Our communities main goal
should be to join together and form one social group. My community is too worried about
the color and race of an individual to actually start a conversation. That is a very hard
thing to say; however, it is something that is very true of the major communities. Many
people are looking at taking on more than they can handle. We must start at the small
projects of the community. For example, work on the streets and lowering the number of
individuals unemployed. Then move our way up to the harder projects. In this manner we are
growing as we succeed. There may be failures along the way, but as long as something is
learned, then it is not a total loss.
Comment on the excerpts from
Tomorrows Child.
Children, with that single
8-letter word, we usually associate parents. However,
its all-to-common that a parental figure is replaced by a $15 piece of plastic. I
feel in disgrace when I read that children would carry a doll, to carry their mother. This
is a major social problem in the society of today. Do we really want parent-less,
guide-less children? Arent they supposed to be our future? Then maybe those
individuals should have thought twice before making the decision to have sex, to realize
the possibilities and responsibilities they were taking on.
6. How does
the fact that the USA is a democracy make lawyers particularly helpful, according the
Kathleen Sullivan? How does our diversity, wealth, and size make lawyers particularly
helpful?
In our everyday life, lawyers
are extremely helpful in creating, finding, interpreting, adapting, applying, and
enforcing rules. Lawyers are an essentially great addition to the everyday life because
they allow our democracy to stay in cue. If we did not have lawyers our society would be
run over by the government, basically like rulership on a lower scale.
Ms. Sullivan claims bad practices are changed either by regulations or punitive damages. Which do you prefer and why? Can you think of an alternative?
In my opinion, I believe that in most cases both
options should be readily available. Punitive damages in cases where damage was caused to
property or a person. However, this is only up to a certain extent. Also regulations
should be created so that these types of cases would not have to encountered again and
would protect people in the future. I believe that our justice system is at a sailing
course and does not need any improvements.
Briefly describe three ways society would benefit from the coming retirement of baby boomers, according to the required reading.
These retirees would create a
job force for other retirees in their entrepreneurship. This allows an open force of
workers and more available option for the Generation Xers. Retired workers also
allow for other options of entrepreneurial nanny services. This also allows for xers
to join the corporations and opens up more windows of opportunity.
9. Evaluate the likelihood of President Clintons anti-poverty program making a real impact. Give at least 3 reasons to back up your conclusions.
On Mr. Clintons 25% tax
credit plan, I believe it will be a success. However, the program may be more of a tax
evasion than help. I understand that he wants poverty to be abolished, but he needs to
look at reducing rather than eliminating. If our society is looked at as a poor society,
and people INVEST in us, I believe
the public would not look to fondly upon this plan. On his APIC plan to provide public
debt, is a same policy plan as the previous. On his CDFI plan, I believe this is the best of his plans. Allow loans to poverty stricken
citizens and allow them to pull themselves up. This is truly the only way to help. To help
we must lend a hand.
Name 3 things Truett Cathy and Tom Lewis have in common.
Both found plans and were
successful in their achievements. They found a plan of action for their community and
stuck to it. They both also believe in the helping children who come from unfortunate
circumstances. Finally, they both, themselves, have come from tough situations and ridden
out through the storm to the calm seas.
