Education Is The Root Of All Things To Come

by Stephanie Gower

Grade 11

In order to improve the life in our community today, we must improve the education among our children. I feel that education is the root of all things to come.  If you do not have an education, then you have no life. But, in order to earn a career in our society, you must have a college education.  It is possible to live off of a High School education at this time, but that can not assure you that the job offers a good salary.

Our personal responsibility is to make sure that our children are in school, so that they can get an education. If our children do not go to school, then they are not guaranteed to be able to get a job when they get older. This is especially true today, because of how technology is growing. In order to get almost any kind of job, you must know how to operate a computer and many other things. This tells you right here that you need a college education.

Sure, there may be some problems that may cause a child not to go to school, but there should be ways around that problem.  For example, a parent may not be able to afford for their child to go to school. So, that should be the point where a parent should be able to receive financial aid. Some parents do receive financial aid, but most of the time it is not used, for the intentional meaning. That is where the government needs to come in and do something for the child.

Or, there may be some other reasons why a child may not go to school. For example, they may be abused at home, they may be abused at school, or even, they are in the middle of a parents divorce and is in the middle of the custody battle. No matter what the problem, it should be the job of the parent to try and solve the problem. Whether it requires moving your child to another home, school, or even city. The parent needs to try and solve the problem so that the child can earn an education.

I guess that what I am trying to say is that if our children get an education, that may cut down the population of the poor people. I mean, if you think about it, the only reason that there is homeless people, is because they made a few wrong decisions. I think that the first wrong decision was not to get an education. The next decision was to give up on themselves.  The last decision was to give up on life and to give up on second chances.

I feel that if a person gives up on getting an education, they really do not care how they live. If a person does not care how the live, they do not care if they hurt themselves or their family. If they give  up on themselves, they must not appreciate how they have lived their life.  I also feel that if a person gives up on everything, then they have given up on believing in God. I also think that if a person gives up on life and second chances, that they do not believe in themselves and second chances.

I guess that what I am trying to say is that the people who are poor or homeless, really do not have an education. If people knew how important their education is, that might stop a major percentage of the population of homeless an/or poor people. If a major percentage of people were not homeless or poor, then there may not have to be as many government funded organizations. Which means that less money will be spent on people who made some very dumb decisions, and then schools could get funds to help pay for parents who can not afford for their children to go to school.

In conclusion, to improve life in communities, we must have our children earn an education.  If education is carried out by all the children now and to come, then the number of children who go to school may increase. If the number of children who go to school increases, then there may be less homeless and/or poor people. But, in order for their to be less homeless and poor people, the children must carry out their education, and go to college. So, if your child carries out their education, that may insure an improvement in our communities today, and in the future.
