The role of personal responsibility improving the quality of life in our communities today is working for your goals. As a kid you want to make the best of it; long term and short term. Later on, you've got to work for something higher like your grades and winning events. Then you move on to going to college, working for a career, graduating from college, and finally finding a job.
As a younger child you really do not know what you want as a career. You may think it might be nice to be a nurse or a cop. But you really do not understand how hard you have to work for a good paying career.
When you start to go to school, you actually do not understand all of the benefits you can come out with. This is because at such a young age you do not really understand anything yet. But, with everything you learn you become a smart individual. You will graduate every year or class with more knowledge as an older child. You may only think of the short term goals. You may think, "I have to study to get an "A" on my Spelling Test or Science Test." A long term goal you are working for is your whole education.
In Grade School, you basically go just because your parents send you there. Some kids do not like to go to school, but what they get out of it everyday is priceless. In our country, you are lucky to be offered such a free luxury. In some countries, they are not quite as fortunate as we are. They can not afford to send all of their children to school. We are just a rich nation that we can afford to send our children to a place where they can learn basic living needs and how to survive in our society.
As you grow older, you become more aware of how much more potential you have to offer and what you need to make yourself a better person. You become active in sports and clubs. You take an interest in other people. You also like to experiment and learn with new and exciting things. The grades you get in Grade School will sort of show you how you will do in High School. In High School, you become aware of how much better you should do for college. Of course, you try to get "good" grades. And you actually have to work for them. Maybe if you trying to take an interest in going college to play a sport. You will put in all of your free time into practicing and getting better at your game.
When you grow older, you become addicted to winning. Everyone would rather be a winner than a loser. So, now you work hard at winning a game, or a spelling bee contest. You work for something that you want badly just to be a winner. Everyone likes the feeling they get after winning. You know that you did do a good job, and that you deserve the recognition that you are getting for doing such a job well done! You also work hard at getting into that certain special school. You would work hard to achieve that letter of acceptation.
After your High School career, and you are attending a college. You can look back on all of your Grade School and High School accomplishments. You can say I have accomplished most of my goals. Now, I have bigger goals to accomplish. I have to work hard and give thanks to all the people who made me the person I am and who helped me on my way!
Now, I have to work to graduate from college. I want to get a good paying career in the United States. So, when I marry my spouse and we start to have children, we will not have to worry about financial problems. I will marry a person on the same level in which I am on. I deserve to marry someone as high as me. I have worked hard to be where I am now I also know my spouse as too. You also want to raise your children in a loving environment. That way they can grow up to be a person like yourself. You should set realistic goals for your children also. You should never let them settle for anything less than what they deserve.
1.) How does society invest in marriage in the USA and in
Manus?
I think the USA doesn't really invest in marriage- In movies, they always show. partners cheating on each other. They all have divorces. In Manus, they take it a lot more serious.
2.)Interview 10 married people. State the length and number of each one's marriages and a line or two from advice from each on how to maintain a long, happy relationship.
4 years - You have to be able to communicate and be honest with each other.
1 year - You marry your best friend so it would be friendship
20 years- Communication,
you should be 100% honest.
5 years - Honesty: you should talk to each other.
10 years - You marry a person with the same goals as you have.
7 years - You would want to spend the rest of your life with a person that has good morals.
5 years - Your partner should have the same as what you want.
20 years - If you have communication you have everything else in a marriage like honesty too.
10 years - You have to trust you spouse.
1 year - Love, lots if love. If you love each other you will have a happy marriage.
3.)
According to
Richard Eckersley, what should our collective goal be?
You should keep in touch with your family and children and love them and raise them well.
4.)
Write a
worthy goal for your local community.
A worthy goal for my community is to have more community events.
5.) Comment on the experts from "Tomorrow's Child."
The first paragraph was a nice opening, but then they lost me. I didn't really understand what they wanted us to think.
6.) How does the fact the USA is a democracy make lawyers particularly helpful, according to Kathleen Sullivan? How does our diversity, wealth and size make lawyers particularly helpful?
The USA is a democracy. So we make our own choices nobody is ruling over us. Lawyers help with diversity, because, we are a. heterogeneous society. We are. a very wealthy society. Lawyers also help us get what we want. We also are a very large society. Lawyers help let the people voices be heard.
7.) Ms. Sullivan claims bad practices are changed either by
regulations or punitive damages, Which do you prefer and, why? Can you think of an alternative?
Punitive, because we don't need any more laws, No, I can't think of an alternative.
8.) Briefly describe three ways society would benefit from
the coming retirement of baby boomers, according to the required reading.
They are the most wealthiest, educated, act successful They have started their own businesses. They way they will give a chance to younger people for job opportunities.
9.) Evaluate the like hood of President Clinton's
anti-poverty program making a real impact. Give
at least three reason to, back up your conclusions.
I do not agree with it, and here is why:
1.) Most poverty people are uneducated.
2.) You can not hire a person who is uneducated nor could they be able to run a business.
3.) If you are uneducated, you would not be able to be successful at your job.
10.) Name three
things Truett Cathy and. Tom Lewis have in
common.
1.) They were educated people.
2.) They were successful by starting their own business.
3.) They both invented things for people.
