If we all chip in for community work then it will make the world and our community a better place. An individual cannot do it alone.

We could start out making our community a better place by planting flowers in an elderly persons  yard, at the park, along roadsides, at the schools and around the fire and police stations.  We could all mow lawns for businesses, elderlies homes, nursing homes, friends, churches, neighbors whether your a girl or boy for the holidays that may not have the time or a disability to do it on their own.  We can decorate the elderlies homes, nursing homes.  We can decorate the park so that when people came down the highway visiting our town over the holidays can see that we care about our community.  They just might go home and do the same in their town.  We could decorate the school, a local nursing home or in another city, or a business to show how much we care that our community looks clean and beautiful and that people care about people that can not do this all by themselves.  Everyone enjoys a house being lit up and a tree decorated.  Everyone can pitch in and decorate the towns streets and sidewalks to brighten up the town.

Everyone has painted once in their lives if not, at least in kindergarten.  We could paint over graffiti that may be on sidewalks, businesses, houses, peoples sheds or cars.  We can get rid of the violence and gang wanna be’s.  They don’t deserve being here so let’s get rid of them.  We could go to the park about once a month and see that the equipment needs new paint on the equipment, and paint them.  We could all make it a better place with a simple little can of paint.

We could baby-sit for a neighbor that might have an emergency,  needs to be gone for a few hours and does not want to wake the baby or does not have the time to get the child dressed.  They would see how much we care about children of the community and that alone too would help a community.  Baby-sitting is fun if you have done it for a long time, believe me, it’s like the children are your own because when they are hurt they depend on you when their parents are not there.  They want you to play with them as if

you are mom or daddy. It’s a good way to get started in the community.

We could go up to the Senior Citizens Building and offer to serve the elderly their food, go around and ask if they need anything else to drink or to eat and go get it for them.  They would really appreciate if we went and asked them if they were done and take their plate and cup.

We could go to a nursing home and sing Christmas carols.  Then we can go to all the rooms and give them a small gift and tell them Merry Christmas, because some of  those people   We could go to the hospital and sing Christmas carols to the patients and give the children candy canes or something.  We could go down the halls and sing songs to the people that cant get out of the bed.  Go see the new babies and wish the parents a Merry Christmas and have a great time with their new baby.  We could even just sit and talk to the children and other people in the hospital to see what is wrong with them we might even be able to tell them something about it from our experience.

We could go to an elderlies home and pick them up and bring them to the store or to their relatives if its close by. We could even just sit there and talk with them and learn something from the past we would never have learned in school.

I think if we all pull together and help other people do things, our community would become a better place.  People need more things done then the things I mentioned in this essay. They need love, care, and someone to talk to. That is the main three things a person needs out of a community.  So make our community  a better place and go do

something about it.

That if we continue on our present path of economic and technological development,

humanity will overcome the obstacles and threats it faces and enters a new golden age of

peace, prosperity, and happiness.  We need all the peace, prosperity, and happiness that

we can get.

For one thing a doll can not take place of a mother or a father.  We may have a whole lot

of latchkey kids but let them be, they don’t need a doll to replace a mothers face. What

would you do to a boy? Boys don’t carry around dolls!! They carry around a car or a

truck.  What they need is to be given a picture of their mother that is made where it is not

able to be messed up and let them carry it around so when they feel lonely they think the

picture is their parents.

6. How does the fact the USA is a democracy make lawyers particularly lawyers particularly helpful, accordingly to Kathleen Sullivan?

Lawyers are helpful in time of divorce, to see  where the children will go while in the time of divorce.  They make sure that the parents are healthy and not going to abuse them. If this happens the children are taken from them and placed with the other parent or with the grandparents or closest living relative.  They counsel the parents before they do a terrible mistake putting their child in the middle of it.

7. Ms. Sullivan claims bad practices are changed either by regulations or punitive damages. Which do you prefer?  Can you think of an alternative?

I say regulation because you can go on with your life better with regulations than punitive

damages such as getting told what you can do instead of what you have to do.  I don’t

really have an alternative.

One way is that they get more money out of people that is young because the older people get they can’t do as much as the young ones. I think the young people have to work while the older people sits around letting the younger ones serve them on hand and foot.  Make them go and hand food to the needy or go visit an elderly and fix their lunch. Keep them busy.

9. Evaluate the likelihood of President Clinton’s anti-poverty program making a real impact.  Give at least 3 reasons to back up your conclusions.

Mr. Clinton uncovered an long list of anti-poverty measures, that added to a long list already made by the government.  First a 25% tax credit that makes it able to investigate
