- Why are families important?
- Imagine what your life would be like if every member of
your family suddenly disappeared?
- What if you had never experienced a family? What if you
were raised in an orphanage and no information about
either parent was available?
- Go back in your mind to early human existence-think or
write about the situations that eventually directed
humans towards small family units as opposed to herds,
wolf packs or tribes.
- Do families have obligations to members? If so, discuss
five obligations.
- Discuss five ways family members benefit one another.
- Why is family important to you?
- Why are families important to the nation?
- Check out movies like "Logan's Run",
"Fahrenheit 450" and "1984" at your
local video store. Do you like futuristic societies
devoid of families?
- Describe ten ways American culture affects the life of
your family. What behavior does it influence?
- "American culture tells us what is good and
important." Do you agree with that statement? Why or
why not?
- Where do you get your values? Does American culture
reinforce your own value system or oppose it?
