Traditions - Honors Adults Receive

"Years ago the children and I had a local trophy shop engrave dates important to my husband's business on a 12 by 24 inch metal plaque mounted on an oak frame. This hangs on the wall in his office. Every few years we take it down and have new dates and significant descriptions inscribed."
M. B., Ohio

"We have a wall full of newspaper clippings from each family member's achievements; ranging from participation in track meets, educational recognitions and acknowledgments for community service or donations to good causes. These not only honor the recipients, they inspire other family members."
Lloyd, Denver, Colorado

"We are a family of entrepreneurs. Whenever anyone closes an important hard fought transaction or launches a new product, authors a book or achieves an educational goal we extend congratulations and gather for a family celebration-surprise if possible. On one occasion we distributed sweat shirts, T-shirts, and visor caps with reproductions of a newly published book authored by a member of the family. The author, and many family members were appropriately surprised. The reproduction was quickly and inexpensively handled by a local T-shirt shop."
Melvin, Carmel, California
