"We have only had one retirement in our family and it was
marked with a "This Is Your Life" party. Each member of
the family took a period of years and developed a skit which was
performed by, or with the help of his/her immediate family. Mom
took the earliest time period, as no one else was around to
recall those years, and the oldest child took the next time
period and so forth chronologically. It was great fun and made
Dad feel really special and appreciated. Additionally, young
family members learned things they didn't, and might not have
known about otherwise. I recommend this activity to others. Our
family benefited."

"When someone in our family retires we have cake, ice
cream, juice and a lot more. Then the person gets presents and
other things like pants, shirts and coats."
