The goal of this phase of Another Way  is to get every participating entity an internet connection and access

• to at least one computer dedicated or shared at each school
• to at least one computer dedicated or shared at each religious institution
• to at least one computer dedicated or shared at each library
• to at least one computer dedicated or shared at every Boys & Girls Club
• to at least one computer dedicated or shared at every participating nonprofit
• to at least one computer dedicated or shared at every participating public agency

We will leverage computer resources by sharing where necessary, scheduling certain times for Volunteer Corps (VC) use. Perhaps older VC participants could use computer rooms at Boys and Girl Clubs in the mornings, and as a trade, VC could provide computer tutors for Boys and Girl in the afternoons. Leverage and trade - these concepts are vital to our entire project.

Everyone assumes such a task will take years and large amounts of money. Our mission is to have this phase completed in months and without government dollars----i.e. we will accomplish our goal with private trades. Sometimes the trade may be the hope that our efforts will result in a better more productive community and all that entails; other times the trade may include a more immediate payoff, such as publicity or services.

Remember, wherever you are located, you will have access to the information we will put on the internet via a toll free local phone call. You will be connected, office to office via the internet without costly wiring and networking systems. You can share what is on your computers via e-mail. You will find efficiencies in having access to forms and letters you can quickly adapt to your local needs. We will not have to duplicate efforts. Those of you who have never done it will find it unbelievably simple. It wasn't always simple but any horror stories you may have heard are pretty much in the past.
