Another Way is an infrastructure designed to make existing social programs work more efficiently. Another Way does this by using leverage and trade. It uses the idealism and energy of youth and honors it. At its core is the local school system and truly Volunteer Corps Center in every community which relies heavily on the experience, patience and wisdom of retired people and mentors in general.
The local school system provides the infrastructure necessary to efficiently transport the goodwill, energy and other resources needed to reduce social needs. The after-school local Volunteer Corps Center (unrelated to the school system)
raises funds and provides volunteers so that social service providers can spend more time accomplishing their mission. The Another Way project works to remove disincentives and to make volunteering more appealing.Another Way views the oldest and the youngest members of society, not as problems, but as solutions; not as takers, but as givers; not as liabilities but as any nation's greatest resource. They do not need to be amused - these two generations need to contribute and to be valued as an integral part of the community. Participation in Another Way reestablishes a connection in the community as business, schools, churches, nonprofits and government at all levels come together and by combining hope and technology, work to make the world a better place.
