"Although I didn't see quite eye-to-eye with my
scoutmaster, I did learn how to take care of myself, not just in
the woods, but in everyday life. Scouting provides a strong
'family' setting which many youths seek. Instead of joining
scouting however, they join gangs. Scouting is a sort of 'gang',
except instead of hurting people they help them."

Taking a page from academia and scouting, the Volunteer Corps uses colored chevrons to represent areas where participation amounting to a specific number of hours has taken place. All community-based non-profits would be categorized and assigned a battalion and color. For instance:
